Following the electoral defeat of the Howard Government in late 2007, Australian campaigners are urging the new Rudd Labor Government to break with nearly 40 years of successive Australian governments' policies of 'turning a blind eye' to the human right abuses that continue on our doorstep in West Papua.
Since the Indonesian military occupation in the 1960's it is estimated that over 100,000 West Papuans have been killed. It's time for Australians to stand up for our West Papuan neighbours and defend human rights.
Please register below and your name will be added to a list of concerned Australians that will go directly to the Prime Minister urging him not to sign any security agreement with Indonesia while human rights abuses continue and instead push for free media access to West Papua. We will then also keep you informed about what else you can do for West Papua in the future.
